Community -- The IACA Community E-mail List: newsletter with upcoming event announcements.

About Community
English (USA)

This is the IACA Community E-mail List Those who are on this e-mail list will get e-mails about upcoming IACA events and other Puget Sound Iranian/Persian related events or information important to the Iranian community in the Puget Sound area. Anyone can submit an announcement for inclusion in the twice-a-month e-newsletter, but there are some rules to follow:

1.The deadline to submit announcements will be the 1st and the 15th of the month, 5pm. To submit announcements, please send them to Polly Peshtaz at ppeshtaz@hotmail.com.

2. The e-newsletter will go out twice a month, roughly on the 8th and the 22nd.

3. We will accept announcements about events related to the Iranian/Persian community, including cultural events, educational events, community service opportunities (to serve the Iranian community or the greater community), civil rights events, professional/networking opportunities, social services available to the community, etc.

4. We will not accept political or religious announcements, unless they are educational in nature and represent multiple religious/political views. This is because IACA is a nonpartisan and
nonreligious organization. Examples of events we will accept include:

-Together We Build recently organized an interfaith event called "Understanding the People of Iran," seeking to educate Muslim, Jewish, and Christian congregations about Iranian culture. This event was both educational and represented Iranians of different faiths.

-Seattle members of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) organized an educational event explaining ballot initiatives for the 2005 election to local NIAC members. This was strictly nonpartisan with the goal of encouraging Iranian Americans to vote.

5. The e-mail cannot exceed 40K in length. Please send event info in the form of text advertisement with at most one picture attached. For a more rich experience, refer the user to a webpage.

6. Format of the subject line: 'MM/DD: '

7. The event must be accessible to the general public, not just a specific group of people.

8. Please state explicitly what the charge(s) for the event is.

Thank You!
